歷史沿革
本校創立於民國三十二年四月一日，命名為-- 台灣公立花蓮港廳大和國民小學，首任校長為日人『本坊正典』 。
　　民國三十四年十月二十五日台灣光復，教育制度廢除日本教育，實施三民主義教育。
　　民國三十六年三月一日，光復鄉新成立，本校由瑞穗鄉改隸光復鄉，將本校學區劃分為大富、大豐、大興、大農四村，四月一日本校校名改為尚和國民學校， 九月一日又更名為大富國民學校，至五十七年實施九年國教，本校乃改易今名花蓮縣大富國民小學。
　　本校創校迄今已六十八年，以沈水金先生為第一任校長，曾十二度易長，民國九十六年八月一日由現任劉小華女士接任。

School History
Founded on April 1, 1943, Dafu Elementary School, was originally named Dahe Public National School of Taiwan. The first principal was Japanese 本坊正田. After the Retrocession of Taiwan on October 25, 1945, Japanese education was abolished, and Taiwanese public education was implemented. On March 1, 1947, GuangFu Township was founded. Previously under the jurisdiction of Juisui Township, this school is now under GuangFu Township. The school district included the following four villages: Dafu, Dafeng, Dasing, and Danung. On April 1, 1947, the school changed its name to Shanghe National School. On September 1 of the same year, it changed its name again to Dafu National School. In 1968, a nine-year compulsory curriculum of national education was implemented. At the same time, the school changed to its present name Dafu Elementary school, Hualien County. Going back to when Mr Shen Shui Jin was principal, the school has already been established for 68 years. The school has been run by twelve different principals. Since August 1, 2007, Mrs Liu Shiao Hua has served as the newest principal.
